كانت من أوائل الخريجين في المعهد العالي للنقد الفني. ومن رواد قراءة نشرة الأخبار بالفرنسية في التليفزيون المصري عام 1960، وقدمت برنامج شهير للطفال.
في عام 1964، منحت الميدالية الذهبية من أكاديمية الشعر الفرنسية لديوان الشعر "ظلل وضوء" والذي أصدرته باللغة الفرنسية، كما حصلت على الميدالية الذهبية عام 1965 في مسابقة الشعر الفرنسي الدولي.
توفيت في حادث طائرة عندما أسقطت المقاتلات الإسرائيلية الطائرة التي كانت تستقلها فوق سيناء المحتلة آنذاك
One of the first graduates of the Higher Institute of Art Critique. In
1960, she was one of the pioneer French news presenters in the
Egyptian National Television, and hosted famous childrenshow. In
1964, Salwa Hegazy won the gold medal from the French Academy
of Poetry for her collection of poems in French “Ombres et Clarté”,
"Shadows and Light". In 1965, she also won the gold medal in the
French international poetry contest. Hegazy died in a tragic plane
crash after her plane was shot down by Israeli jet fighters over the
occupied territory of Sinai.
