همت مصطفى هي أول مذيعة شاهدها الناس على شاشة التليفزيون المصري وأول من قرأ نشرة الأخبار. التحقت للعمل بالأذاعة عام 1951، وعملت بالبرامج السياسية وقراءة نشرات الأخبار.
همت مصطفى هي من أول العلميين الذين عملوا بالتليفزيون عند تأسيسه عام 1960، وأصبحت مديرا عا ًما للأخبار والشئون السياسية عام 1978.
وانفردت بتقديم الرئيس الراحل محمد أنور السادات في برامج مباشرة للجمهور المصري من بلدته ميت أبو الكوم بمحافظة المنوفية في مناسبات مختلفة أشهرها عيد ميلاده.
Hemat Mostafa was the first television presenter people saw on their television screens, and the first to read the news.
She joined the political department at the Egyptian Radio Broadcasting Corporation in 1951 where she also read the news.
She was among the pioneers who worked at the television after its launch in 1960, and became the director of the news and political affairs in 1978. She conducted exclusive live interviews with President Sadat, on various occasions, at his village residence in Meet Aboul Kom, Monofeya, the most famous was on his birthday.
