Egypt Baradei courts nation's disabled

By-EG | 11 August 2011

CAIRO - In a bid to gain their support, Mohamed ElBaradei, a potential candidate for Egypt's presidency, has promised the nation's 8 million disabled that post-revolution Egypt will “fully consider equality and solidarity”.

"I have met with representatives of Egypt’s 8 million disabled. Their rights are well understood," ElBaradei wrote on his Twitter account, promising a better life for them. The Egyptian disabled were marginalised under toppled president Hosni Mubarak, although some bills gave them equal or even better rights than normal people.
