سناء جميل من أفضل الممثلات المسرحيات المصرية ، وقد لعبت عدة أدوار مع فرقة الكوميدى فرانسييز على مسارح فرنسا.

فى عام 1961، نالت جائزة أحسن ممثلة مساعدة فى مهرجان موسكو  السنيمائى عن دورها فى فليم بداية ونهاية عن رواية نجيب محفوظ، وقد مثل عمر الشريف دور البطولة فى هذا الفليم. 

 One of the best Egyptian theater actresses, Sanaa Gamil played a

number of roles on the French Stage for La Comedie Francaise. In

1961, she won best supporting actress award at the Moscow Film

Festival for her role in the movie Bidaya wa Nihaya (A Beginning

and an End) based on a novel by􀀃 Nobel Prize winner Naguib

Mahfouz. Omar Sharif played the leading role.
